To integrate former farmland into the growing Gaithersburg urban environment, VIKA has designed streets, blocks, building lots, parks, and environmental conservation areas to accommodate a diverse mix of uses, amenities, and transit options. VIKA provided services for concept through construction administration for new master planned roads, hundreds of townhomes, and single family dwelling units, several multi-family buildings, open spaces/parks, and stormwater management ponds. Ensuring that each of the functional elements work in a comprehensive and aesthetically pleasing way is the key to urban design in our complex regulatory environment.
