We believe in knowing the community you affect.  We build relationships that last beyond a single project., LLC is seeking a full-time Survey Crew Chief with direct working knowledge in all aspects of land surveying projects, including field data collection with conventional, robotic, and GPS instruments, reconnaissance for horizontal and vertical control or property corner evidence, field stakeout of building control and site features for future construction, set up and monitoring for settlement, detail measurements and recordation for as-builts.

ENGINEERING

We are seeking an engineering intern who is driven and looking for technical growth and advancement in a dynamic workplace. The successful candidate will work on various projects and will be part of a multi-disciplined design team that includes civil engineers, planners, landscape architects, and CADD designers, all under the supervision of an experienced professional engineer.  The successful candidate will work closely with a project engineer assisting/mentoring you in the performance of tasks associated with the preparation of various plan submissions, but are not limited to:

  • Project, client and agency meetings
  • Roadway design
  • Sediment and erosion control design
  • Stormwater management design
  • Site grading and layout design
  • Storm drainage, water & sewer design
  • Site planning
  • Site inspections & site visits
  • Drainage area map preparation
  • Channel or pipe flow computations
  • Runoff computations
  • Storm computation routing
  • Vertical curve design
  • Sight distance analysis
  • Earthwork analysis
  • Cost estimating

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Working towards a BSCE OR MSCE degree
  • Working knowledge of Civil 3D
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D, MS Office Suite (MS Project, MS Excel, MS Word, MS Outlook)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • A personal commitment to excellence

SURVEYING

Under direct supervision, assists Survey Department in all aspects of survey projects, including field data collection with either conventional survey instruments or GPS, reconnaissance for horizontal and vertical control or property corner evidence, field stakeout of proposed routes or future construction, and technical support as needed.  Must be able to work outdoors in all types of weather.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Project, client and agency meetings
  • Assist in operating instruments and datacollections systems (total stations, levels, and other measuring devices) toacquire data for various types of surveys
  • Assists or performs processing of fieldmeasurements and related data, limited equipment maintenance and maintainssupplies for crew vehicles
  • Assist in use of total station survey instrument or GPS systems
  • Assist in placement of survey monuments to establish legal boundaries including property lines, right-of-ways, easements, etc.
  • Review existing survey plans and sketches to determine locations of existing survey monuments, as well as to place new monuments
  • Uses trigonometry and other mathematic functions extensively
  • Creates sketches of existing and new surveys
  • Assist in providing accurate survey data

QUALIFICATIONS
